Stage 1 of the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Drymen.
The stage starts at the official WHW gate in Milngavie, and from there you move quietly away from the small cozy town on the way to WHW's adventurous route north. The stage is affordable and at half way you can visit the Glengoyne distillery. There may be pressures on tours and tastings, so if you want to be sure, book ahead, but it takes a bit of freedom from the stage. The shop is open and there they are also willing to give a few tastings. Behind the distillery there is an open space where you can possibly have your lunch.
