Itinerary description
A very steep trail with very few switchbacks. This is not a standalone trail. It may be accessed from the Frontier trail near Cardiac hill or from the end of coyote creek trail. This trail is near the southwest corner of the Weimar institute property, sometimes following the fenceline. There are 3 possible access points from Nob hill road: 1) the end of Deer Path trail, 2) the end of meadow vista trail or 3),most difficult of all, a rather barricaded gate at the lower end of nob hill. However, please note that Nob Hill road is a private road, not a county road. Do not park on that road. It is best to approach this trail from inside the Weimar institute and not from Nob Hill Road, unless you live on that road. The best place to start any trail within Weimar is to park at the visitor parking - N39 02 10.6 W120 58 29.4 at the end of Giesendorfer Rd.
The Weimar Institute has over 15 miles of trails. Although this is private property, the trails are open to hikers and equestrians. Bicycles and motorized vehicles are not allowed. A volksmarch cabinet on the side of the Welcome Center near the visitor parking area contains paper maps. For an online version see http://mvtrails.org/images/weimar.jpg
