Itinerary description
The main attraction of this hike is the Kurşunlu Waterfall. In addition, the walk goes through beautiful stretches of forest and just before the end we see a wonderful travertine rock formation.
Kurşunlu Waterfall
Kurşunlu Waterfall is among the most alluring natural beauties in Antalya at the foot of the Taurus Mountains, waiting to be discovered.
Kurşunlu Waterfall is a great choice for a peaceful and relaxing day in nature. You can take a walk around to explore the flowing waters that create small ponds. You can also can have a nice picnic under the shade of pine trees with the sound of the flowing water.
Kurşunlu Waterfall falls 18 meters. It is the tallest waterfall in the canyon.
Actually, there is not a single waterfall here. You will see a number of small waterfalls that form 7 small ponds. Although the water decreases a little in the summer season, the waterfall will enchant you during any season.
Kurşunlu Waterfall - Landscape, Flora, and Fauna
Kursunlu Waterfall has a marvelous landscape where you can see interesting rock formations meeting with flowing waters. It is home to a lot of species.
Due to the richness of the flora here, the area is called a plant tunnel. The most common tree in the nature park is the cluster pine and it allows the area to remain cool.
Apart from pines, it's possible to see laurel, carob, wild olive, mastic, willow, fig, myrtle, oleander, blackberry, wild rose, tamarisk, spruce, kermes oak, thyme, wild mint, beech trees, bracken, and ivy.
Among the aquatic plants, there are water mints, reeds, water hunts, and lotus.
Kurşunlu Waterfall Natural Park is home to many forest animals such as dogs, snakes, turtles, bats, squirrels, foxes, wild boars, rabbits, tortoises, and lizards.
Kurşunlu Waterfall - Facilities
A parking lot is available at the entrance.
There are playground areas for the children.
There are pony rides for the children and camel rides for adults
It is possible to find WC, cafés, and restaurants around the waterfall.
You can take great photos and enjoy the calmness in the observation terraces.

After we have passed the ticket office, we almost immediately arrive at a very large picnic area. From there it is only a few steps to the Kurşunlu Waterfall. We walk close to the various waterfalls and then cross the stream over a kind of stone walkway.
Then we keep left and take a fairly steep path up (with stairs) to get out of the canyon to the forest behind. We are now going to take an extensive walk through the beautiful forests of the park. There are mainly pines, but in some places, we also find quite a bit of Eucalyptus. As we progress, the forest becomes more and more impressive. At first it seems completely planted, but later it is much wilder and there are nice streams here and there that we follow for a while.
At a certain point our path leads above a vast valley, which gives us beautiful views. This route goes back and forth along this valley for a short distance. That's because the path eventually led to a fence, which probably marked the boundary of the park. But on this segment, there was such a beautiful view that walking in one or the other direction was so different that it is very interesting to walk this part twice, so don't skip it, but turn around at the indicated view point (waypoint: Viewpoint, now turn back).
After this point we continue to walk through the forest for a long time, passing a sandy road where the water has washed away a lot of material. As a result, the underlying rocks have become exposed and we can see beautiful shapes in the sandy rocks.
Finally, we return to the canyon and continue to follow the river. We pass the Bitki tuneli (plant tunnel) and shortly after we reach the small waterfall.
After we pass the Osmanli Restaurant we have to cross the river with the Big Bridge. Straight ahead is a path indicating "not suitable for less experienced walkers". But the problem is that further on the bridge that was there before has been knocked away, so it is simply not possible to cross later.
So we cross over the Big Bridge and continue on the other bank. We now follow a beautiful path that continues along the stream. At the last waterfall of the park, we turn right. Then we continue along another stream, now uphill. At this last stretch we walk through a nice forest with sometimes very large hollow trees, some ponds and in general a beautiful nature.
Shortly before we reach the end, we pass a very large travertine formation.
Travertine is a type of light colored, yellowish calcareous sedimentary rock of chemical origin. The small cavities present in the semi-compact structure are typical of travertine. Very resistant to atmospheric agents, travertine has been used since ancient Roman times in construction as a building and ornamental material.
This formation is completely green because of the moss that has grown over it. It is very special to see.
Shortly afterwards we arrive at the picnic area which we also visited at the beginning of the walk again, and it remains for us to walk back to the ticket office.
Some additional information:
Long: The route is designed in two circles, one in clockwise direction, one in counter clockwise direction.
There are picnic tables in the beginning and the end of the hike.
There is drinking water at the restaurants in the park, but not in the forest.
The track is moderate from a technical point of view.
