Walking trail, Victoria Falls

Este passeio a pé em redor das Cataratas de Victória foi feito em Agosto de 2016 e faz parte de uma viagem com guia da Kiboko Adventures que visitou o Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namíbia e a Africa do Sul.

Antes de percorrer o trilho em frente às Cataratas de Victória fiz uma visita à Victoria Falls Bridge. Esta ponte liga as duas margens do rio Zambeze desde 1905, logo a jusante das cataratas. O vão da ponte sobre o desfiladeiro permite a realização de actividades de Bungee-jumping e Slide.
A ponte é também a ligação de fronteira entre o Zimbabwe e a Zâmbia. Formalmente não entrei na Zâmbia, mas ao passar no posto de fronteira (lado do Zimbabwe) é necessário pedir um "passe" de visita à ponte, grátis.

A "Victoria Falls Rainforest" fica em frente às cataratas e tem um trilho pedestre, em excelentes condições, que permite ver as diferentes áreas de queda de água do lado do Zimbabwe e uma perspectiva lateral da Victoria Falls Bridge.
A entrada é paga e custa 30 USD para visitantes internacionais.

Não existem quaisquer obstáculos a ultrapassar. As quedas de água levantam algum spray, que torna o piso escorregadio e nos pode deixar um pouco encharcados. O risco de queda está presente, pois estamos junto a uma falésia!

This walking trail around the Victoria Falls was done in August 2016 and was part of a guided tour from Kiboko Adventures visiting Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namíbia and South Africa.

Before the walking trail in front of the falls I visited the Victoria Falls Bridge. This bridge connects the two Zambezi River banks since 1905, just downstream from the Falls. The bridge over the canyon is also used for Bungee-jumping and Zip-wire activities.
The bridge is also a border connection between Zimbabwe and Zambia. I didn't entered into Zambia, but is necessary to ask for a (free) "visitor pass" to the bridge at the Zimbabwe Border Post.

The "Victoria Falls Rainforest" is in front of the falls and has a walking trail in very good conditions that allow us to see the different areas of the falls in the Zimbabwe side, and a lateral view of the Victoria Falls Bridge.
Entrance fee cost 30 USD for International visitors.

The path has no restrictions and is in good conditions. The falls produce some spray, wich makes the ground slippery and soaks our clothes a little bit. Risk of falling exists, since we are close to a cliff!
