Itinerary description

One of my favorite walks in the area. Hard up for the first 45 mins or so then pretty easy going. You have to climb the wire fence at the first waypoint. A few scrabbly river crossings and a bit of mud in the winter/spring. Gorgeous river with lots of shady spots for a picnic.

Tried the walk April 2nd 2018. The first part needs to be corrected a bit, where the trail leaves the road there is a cattle fence now, but walking up a few hundred metres brings you to a cattle grid in the road, and we walked back to the trail.
A more problematic obstacle proved a large herd of cows on the trail just below the summit, which made most of us turn back. I walked around the cows and met the gravel road after crossing through rough terrain and crossing two steep ravines, which added an hour at least.
The path by the small river is difficult in this time of year, particularly with my eight year old son (who relished in the adventure, but the creek was difficult to cross at times).
All in all much longer than anticipated, but the vegetation and birdlife made it an unforgettable adventure.

I think this is one of Guys original walks which you have to amend in t he early part due to a fence being erected .
