Itinerary description
This is a very scenic hike. It is a RIDGE trail so it is steep and there is mostly NO SHADE.
I started at 9 a.m. and that is too late. It gets very hot on the second part of the trial (after the first scenic lookout). No shade and some rather steep parts.
This is not a difficult hike, but start early and bring water.
I also used my walking poles which helped me both uphill as down hill (some parts are slippery due to heavy use ).
Good trekking shoes would be recommended too, strange writing this but as I saw a lot of people in sneakers, I thought I'll mention it.
Lovely views both going up as coming down. I enjoyed the hike, even if it was rather crowded.
If you bring your dog, remember to bring lots of water for him too.
