Wadi Shi - Al Rafisah Hiking Trail with kids (Shorter version - Not the full hike till Al Suhub Rest Area)
This was a relaxed evening hike we undertook on the Wadi Shi - Al Rafisah Hiking Trail with children ranging from 4 to 9 years old. Since we are hiking with kids after long time, our plan was to go as far as the kids desired and then return.
Parking:
Google “Al Rafisah Dam - The Walk”. This is the nearest parking location

Also you can park on the “Al Rafisah Dam Car Park” and walk back to the starting location.
From the parking location, you can see the back side of Al Rafisah dam.
There is small pathway, across the parking place, which goes towards it.
You follow the path, and can reach the top of the Dam on far end corner.
You will see a sign board “The Walk” there. Hike starts from there.
From the parking area, you have a clear view of the rear side of Al Rafisah Dam. A narrow pathway extends across the parking space, leading towards it. By following this path few meters, you can ascend to the top of the dam at the farthest corner. Upon reaching this point, you'll encounter a signboard labelled "The Walk,". Hike starts form here.
The well laid path winds in a zigzag fashion toward the mountains. At each turn of the zigzag, they have places benches, providing opportunities to rest and relish the splendid view of the dam and the area beyond.
Although our initial plan was to commence the hike at 3 PM, we ended up starting at 5:30 PM. It’s become dark very soon and we didn’t prepared for night hike, caught us unprepared for a night hike, we had to cut the journey short despite the children's enthusiasm to continue. We intend to try again, starting earlier, for a more extensive exploration.
Upon returning to the dam walk, we headed to the Dam Kayak/boat area to add some more enjoyment to our adventure.
