Few months ago, we had hiked the Wadi Ghail section for the first time.
The trail led into the remote village named Ghail village that sits about half way at the elevation of Jebel Qadaah.
This route to Jebel Qadaah is not a popular route though.
This time we decided to hike the same trail as a summer hike which is usually short distance and less than 600 meters of elevation gain.
We started the walk at 4am and ended before 8am before it became too hot.
The access road is about 6 Kms of offroad that needs a high clearance SUV or 4X4, sedans will suffer.
The Offroad starts here.

The access road is separately recorded on wikiloc, the link is here.

I recorded this offroad driving trail as access road to reach the starting point of Ghail village hiking trail in Wadi Qadaah in RAK.
The drive starts at Wadi Qadaah mouth that also leads to challenging adventures, and Leopard canyon trails.
At about 4.5 Kms of drive in the Wadi section, take the Left side exit towards the mountain.
You can continue further than this trail based on your car type.
Need 4x4 vehicle or Strong high clearance AWD.
Sedans will struggle.
We parked here.

The first Kilometer of this hike is a walk on an offroad, which can also be driven by good sturdy 4X4 vehicle.
Once you exit the offroad, the faint trail is clearly visible without much of markers or cairns. It is not like well constructed, but centuries of walkig on the trail can be made out.
The long walked trail will lead you till the village at heights.
Initially the trail will be along the Wadi and then it takes you over towards the mountain and soon you can see the houses of Ghail village.
The trail becomes more clear and well laid with steps here and there.
It leads you directly to the lowest house in the village.
There are about 5 houses in this village and a few terrace fields.
Good for camping too.
From here there are many options to extend the hike in cooler times.
such as,
1. Jebel Qadaah via the traverse and connect to the usual trail from Wadi Haqab
2. Continue on the trail rightwrds to Wadi Zebat / Leopard canyon and many options towards Hebs village, Bahar village, Qadaah village and Wadi Sal.
We hiked down the same way back as this was planned as a short summer hike.
Overall, it was a good endurance hike for summer short hikes that gave is 7 Kms and 500 meters of elevation gain.
We were well prepared with hydration, first aid, fitness and nutrition and mainly timekeeping.
Summer hikes need best of physical fitness, knowledge of the hiking area, previous serious hiking experience, proper hike plan, full preparation and carrying all essentials in the backpack.

Indeed, not a popular hike, we met no soul on the hike. The fainted trail is pretty manageable, following the cairns and the paint markers on stones in form of white circles ⚪️. Another lovely hike! Patrick, I was wondering if you have some Wikilog records with hikes going further this village? Thank you again for the details and the offroad record came very in handy.
Hi Elida,
Here is a trail that extends further after the Ghail village on a properly made trail all the way to Hebs upper/lower villages.

We stopped at the SPAR pass at the base of Jebel Qadaah.
With better logistics plan, you could hike this as a one way hike from Wadi Qadaah to Wadi Haqab via Ghail village, Hebs villages and 1000 steps as descent plan.
