Thank you, so you touched Omani summit of JJ then ?
Is there any restriction to walk around / along the Palace fence ?

Highest elevation was going round the palace, there is a stone bench overlooking a valley in the Omani side.

Didn't make it to the top of JJ even though was about 20-30mins away tops. Had no restriction but surely the area is surveyed.

Not an easy hike by any means. If you dont reach the palace fence by 1-2pm its better to head back. Connecting with STH right bank is tough terrain, will take time and sunset will catch you going down for sure

    Hi Molineru,
I'm Happy to inform you that I referred your trail and hiked it in 2 different ways.
I used your previous information in Comments.
First I hiked up Ghalila Dam-Jais-Ghaf Summit-Sheikh Palace-Right side fence-Jais True summit on Omani side and returned back to Jebel Jais road Last Parking.
Got all the information that I needed.
Today I hiked Wadi Litibah-STH Right Bank-Top village-Jais Omani summit-Sheikh Palace-Ghaf Summit-Descent to Ghalilah trail to the Dam-walk back to Wadi Litibah car park.
Basically I did it in reverse today.
It was a great hike of 23 Kms, 2300 total elevation gain and completed in 9 hours (excluding flat wadi walk between Ghalilah Dam to Litibah Car park )

Hi molineru, hope you are doing good

I have registered for Highlander 55 kms three days hike which is to be held on November the route is wadi ghalikah dam reach top of jebel jais and reach bottom in another end , have you registered for it.

I have done some trails such as jebel lower and upper trials
    Showka mountain trials
    Shiwka pool trials
    Khatt mountian

I m ready to do long distance hike but my only concern is stairways to heaven it is so dangerous and difficult, for how many kms this step or steep will be in our way. To do stairways of heaven do we require any special skills such as vertical climbing or do we require rope climbing skills, if I see in you tube it is very dangerous. Can you share your blog for more information about stairways to heaven

Hi, the highlander event doesn’t touch the technical/dangerous STH, it goes up what it’s called “STH right bank”. This is a well marked trail with man made benches along the way to rest.
It’s steep with plenty of elevation gain. After about 1500m elevation the path is not too clear but should be well marked by the organizers.
You will not use your hands not even once. Enjoy it
