Itinerary description
The Wadi Daftah hike is considered a moderate hike when taking the normal route that most people follow. However, if you're up for a slightly more adventurous hike, you can try the trail that we took. This alternative route involves going to the top of the mountain and descending from the other side.
Before reaching the entrance of the wadi, there are 5 sections in the hike. These sections include two dry waterfalls with cables attached to the rocks. Climbing these waterfalls is manageable and adds a fun element to the hike. The last section, section 5, is the final rope climbing section (see attached picture). From here, instead of following the usual route into the wadi, we started ascending the mountain, which is on your right.
There isn't a designated trail, so hikers must find their own way to the mountain top. This is where things get really exciting. The view from the summit is breathtaking and definitely worth the effort. However, please note that this hike should not be attempted in the summer, and it's better to start early in the day.
Once you reach the top, there is a challenging vertical descent that leads directly to the resort. It's important to know that the resort is private property, and trespassing is not allowed. Instead, follow the trail along the resort until you reach the parking area near the prominent advertisement board.
If you're planning to attempt this hike, please keep in mind that it is intended for experienced hikers only. If you're new to hiking or have limited experience, it's better to skip this section.
You can park your car at the coordinates 25.251648, 56.182807. Look for the big advertisement board; that's where the parking spot is located.
