Itinerary description
Started early in Ein Gedi - Wadi Arugot (enter the reservation before 7-8 am and you don't have to pay the entrance fee). Walked in the wadi for a bit less than an hour, you can roam around the water in the wadi before the climb. started climbing the issi'im ascent to the Judaean desert plateau.
After the climb I walked south on the red marked path, crossing two wadis over all. Stopped for lunch at the first one as it had some nice shade - most of the day is walking on the sun exposed plateau. You'll see some Bedouin shepherds - talk to them and perhaps you'll be offered some coffee, or simply a nice chat.
A bit after the second wadi (15-20 min ~) I stopped for the night.
The second day started by climbing down and up the small cliff to the east of the camp, and then heading west, crossing a wadi in order to head back east - all on the green path. Then descending to Wadi ze'elim, to Ein Namer\Nimriya - you can fill up water here.
Continue walking down the wadi, you can enter the water filled ravine - it's gorgeous! But you'll need a rope for the last waterfall in it. You can manage without of you're careful, but I wouldn't recommend.
After that its just a straight walk to the ze'elim parking lot. You can hitch or walk to the main road from there.
Recommended season: winter\spring (December - April) - summer is WAY too hot, and there's no water till the middle of the second day.
