Itinerary description
Wadi Al Munay (Munai) Extended Hike
Parking:
You can google “Wadi Al Munay Breaker”. It’s a small dam, about 400m from the Sharjah-Kalba Main road – Right side. There is a proper parking area, where sedan car also can reach without any issues.
Google coordinates: 24.99560471209339, 56.11351723222925
There is a dirt road going onwards from the parking lot further ahead. If you have 4x4 / Vehicle with ground clearance, you can go further and park somewhere near to the mountain valley.
You continue with the dirt road. In few meters there will be intersection where the road dividing to left side and right side. We follow right side road – which will eventually leads to small house/camel cage. When you passed that and continue on right side, the mountain valley (Wadi) will start.
This wadi goes straight and then over the mountain it will circle back and join to the intersection on the beginning. It’s easy to follow not without much of a climbing. So when we reached the turning point of the wadi to return back on the other side, we decided to climb the neared highest peak to make it bit more challenging.
Ascending of the mountain was bit hard and descending was more hard as its steep and many lousy rocks were there. But it was manageable. This mountain climb is not mandatory and you can just skip it and continue only in the wadi and complete the hike.
We have started the hike at 07.15. By 08.30 we reached to the bottom of the hill, which we thought to climb. It took 1 hour to climb to the top of the mountain.
While descending it took 1h 30m to climb down the mountain.
Please note that phone battery was dead on the way back, so ending part of the hike is not marked properly in the wikiloc, total distance may be near around 8 km

Hey Chandanau 👋 will this trail good for sunrise also? Saw your great pics at the summit. Just wondering the duration of the hike was 5hrs?
Hi Ann_22, If you are going to climb one of the nearest peaks as we did (Which is optional if you follow the normal route), yes it should be good for Sunrise. Note that this place is surrounded by many small mountains. And yes, it took us 5hrs, mainly because we climbed the summit which took 2.5hrs to climb up and down. (Note that we did this hike during our first year of hiking in UAE and we were going with large group). Hope this information helps.
Thanks a lot for your info Chandanau yes it’s very helpful. Happy hiking! 😀
