Itinerary description
(One way) Moderate, but remote walk up to the Jebel Akhdar plateau. (Day 1) 6 hours easy going. The trail is defined, but not always signed. Decided to camp below crags which hide an accessible Persian stair to the Jebel Akhdar plateau. (Day 2) 3 hours moderate hiking to the road/pass between Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Hatt. Note and avoid trail at the end where I doubled back on myself.
There was a possibility to refill water bladder at a house/hut 4-5 hours into the walk, but this wasn't necessary as I did the hike in winter and 3.5 litres was enough for me.
Stopped at the Shorfet Al Alamin Hotel and hired a driver to take me back to my car (manager's brother). This took 2 hours along a steep dirt road. You could hitch, but this would probably take longer.
