Itinerary description

Here is the track of an hike to the top of the Crateer of Vulcano volcanic island in Isole Eole.

Not difficult. The path is clear and the ground/surface good to hike, not particularly slippery. Sport shoes is for me enough.

The hike is composed of a first “level” at the bottom of the crater. It took me 30min but in an active way. This is the more steep part. Then you have the second part which is going to the top of the crater. It’s quite progressive. I didn’t go all around because there warm volcanic gaz on one side of it and didn’t feel to go through it. Some were passing through it.

At the end it’s more or less 3 km to go up. Lots of people of all ages and sport skills were going up. Go to your pace and it should be a nice challenge !

Then I finish at the Spiaggia Negra as a reward. It’s a fun day that I recommend !
