Itinerary description
Really beautiful trail which starts in the abandoned Turkish village of Vretsia, where one can look inside the houses and other buildings.
The trail starts as unofficial and then partially follows Venetian bridges Nature Trail.
The bridge in the middle of the trail seems to be renovated but still looks gorgeous.
However we didn’t follow official trail till the end and took a deviation at some point thinking that the route would be shorter. But ascent in the final part was very demanding due to a very sharp elevation. Official nature trail seems to be more mild in ascending and nicer in surroundings.
TERRAIN: way to Venetian bridge is a wide dirt car road, from the bridge narrow forest path leads as official trail with some rocky elevations. The last part we took was a gravel car road with very sharp elevation.
SEASON: the trail is about 50% in shade, the last ascending part has no shade at all. In spring the trail is beautiful with the variety of blooming flora, however there are plenty of streams and small rivers which erode the road and path.
SIGNS: there are plenty of signs on the official part.
KIDS: way up to the bridge is walkable with kids of any age and even prams are possible, the 2nd part is better for the kids from 6yo.
