Itinerary description

Starting from the Vredehoek district, from Gardens Station, you go up the Upper Buitenkant St to the junction with Gorge Road, arriving at Van Riebeeck Park, which you will cross until you gradually ascend along a stream.
Towards kilometer point 1.7 we take a path to the left which then turns again to keep track of Table Mountain and Plattekilp Gorge. This road will go up to the road that we will follow for about 500m until the beginning of the ascent through the gorge.
The ascent by the throat is done for about 3'2 km with a total ascent gain of about 700. During the midday there are hardly any shadows, so the best time to climb is first thing in the morning.
Once above, at the crossroads, take the first path that goes to the left that will go around the edge of Table Mountain until reaching the interior and reaching the highest point of Table Mountain, Maclear's Beacon (1087m). From here, and practically without slope, it turns towards the west to reach Table Mountain Cableway.
Going back from this point and back to Maclear's Beacon, you can take the road to Echo Valley, which descends to a crossroads, where we will take the path up again in order to have a good view of the two reservoirs.
Go down to a track until you reach an Old Cableway road junction that will take you to the ruins of the old cable car and, from there, go down to Camps Bay.
