Itinerary description
Start the blue marked trail from Volcano Huts and then take a turn to red trail on the left. It will take you to the elevated area and through some forest and you will exit to the vehicle road with blue blazes. Follow it in the direction to Emstrur until you see red trail indicator. There you need to continue to the right through the forest. After some walking through the forest the ascending up the hill will start. From the hill there are great views in all directions. Descend into the canyon by zigzag path that merges with the orange trail and then continue to the right by the orange route. I found this descent via orange trail less steep than the red one. Walk until Langidalur hut, have a break and refill the water as needed and return to Volcano Huts by the blue trail.
