Route that starts at the Mayon Planetarium (Camp 1) and ascends the slope of the Mayon volcano, up to (Camp 2). You can continue to Camp 3, which is a few hundred meters below the crater and which is not allowed to rise due to the toxicity of the gases. I only arrived at Camp 2 because it started to rain and part of the descent is down the channel of the ravine and the previous day it rained hard 15min and from the skyline it was seen as running very hard and can be crazy for any of the senses of the March. There is no road or path or anything, the route is made with machetes, so you have to hire a guide yes or yes. The guides usually charge from 7500php to 5000php, I got one for 3500php, but finally I decided to go the day before to the lookout where the kick starts and ask local people, haggling leave it at 2000php which at the change is € 33. The "walking" is extreme of unstable terrain and insecure footsteps. I recommend using boots with antigrip flexible long pants, long shirt and hat with the curtain from behind to protect the neck more than anything from scratches and bugs. Gloves that cover the fingers are not too much because you walk a lot on 4 legs and in the jungle when you go to grab something has all thorns and spines, and also prevent you get bitten by a bug. I was stung by an ant the size of a spider although the pain went away at 10min. In the viewpoint they sell machetes for 1000php (€ 17) I do not recommend it if the guide takes, because the slips are guaranteed and nailing a sword or cutting you should not be nice. Enjoy
