Itinerary description
Descent from Baru summit to Volcán. The last few kilometres were done in the back of a 4x4 - I met a friendly park ranger who offered me a ride. Very steep trail, 1,600m elevation drop in first 6km of descent, thereafter it levels off somewhat, passing through Panamanian jungle. Much more scenic than my ascent route (4x4 road from Boquete side). Did not meet a single other person on the trail until the park ranger who was checking the water level in an old reservoir. It should be possible to flag down a passing bus to Volcán or even David from Descent from 8.819193, -82.616852 (8°49'09.1"N, 82°37'00.7"W). Climbed 29/12/14.
