Itinerary description
To reach Pili's base camp you must have a vehicle 4x4 which you need its traction after cross the Salar de Pujsa.
We started the trekking from 4900m on the Pili's base camp at 6:30am, it took 3 hours approximately until "Pili's shoulder" which you find some frozen pools. From the base to the shoulder is not really hard, trying to walk over solid rocks avoiding "acarreo" (a kind of loose stones). From the shoulder (5500m) to 5900m is just go up with more than 45º inclination making it a little exhaustive. Almost arriving to 6000m the land become easier to walk with fews rocks and no "acarrero".
And finally you can see the top of the volcano on your left side, there's a trail that just take you to the summit and it takes less than 30min.
WARNING: DO NOT FOLLOW MY BACKTRAIL!!!
We got the wrong trail returning to the basecamp making it a lot difficult, danger and exhaustive, so just follow back the same trail you came by.
