If you do the walk counter clockwise, you reach the river after about 15 minutes walking. Unfortunately, the concrete bridge that crosses the river has been partly destroyed. So, be prepared to get wet if you want to continue. This is one of the few rivers in Crete that has still plenty of water running even jn summer.
