Itinerary description
This is a nice hike on a well-marked trail. It has some great views.
You can turn it from a moderate hike to a difficult one if you keep going to the end of the Mumulj ridge. You will see from the satellite pic that I stopped before then. It requires some climbing experience to go the whole way to the end with confidence. A local man told me 'I don't recommences you go there, everyone who does looks like a lion attacked them'. You may find this an irresistible challenge.
It is worth visiting the monastery, which is beautiful and very old (14th century). They sell local cheese and honey there.
You can finish at the monastery or make the hike a loop by walking back to Vlasi (though the road is narrow and there is no verge to walk on, take care for passing cars and trucks).
But I finished at a little spot by the river. If you are doing this hike in summer, it is the perfect place for a swim.
