Itinerary description
This long ridge trail links the peaks on Nemërçka Mountain all the way to its highest, Papingut Peak (2483m).
I find it as one of the most rewarding hikes of the region with great views of albanian southern mountains, ledges, cirques, alpine pastures, and impressive rock shapes, all of it while walking along, on top of Vjosa River Valley!
I started from Permet City, then to Dyfekut Pass, a segment which I did not mark since there's many trails u can find online (also to save battery).
There's a few routes u can take from the city to Dyfekut Pass: (Lipa, Leusa or Teqe the middle road) but I do suggest the trail from Lipa as the most "prettiest" one since the day will be long. (Average time: 3h)
From Dyfekut Pass, I turn left heading to the ridge, which is pretty obvious, and then continue to walk, hitting Poliçani peak and Gatakut peak and numerous unnamed peaks. I follow the path up and down and I do suggest staying near or on the top all the time to better see the route you'll follow and the panorama, of course.
On the map, u can see that sometimes I pick one side or the other because of the wind.
NOTES:
- No technical difficulties, but long, demanding. (+2 km of elevation).
- No scrambling if route followed correctly, and route finding is easy.
- Prepare for a very long day and to wild camp one night if the day is too short. Otherwise, it will be hard to descent on night conditions from Papingut Summit. Good camping spots after descending Gatakut Peak before heading to Papingut Peak near the shepherds huts.
- Fastest descending route: Papingut Peak to Gjinkar. (Average time: 5h).

Great trip, thank you for describing the route. I'm planning to do exactly the same thing and thanks to you I know it's possible :)
Is there a place along the way where I can refill my water or do I have to take it with me for two days?
I'm happy to hear that! Have fun, it's a beautiful area!
You have to carry water from the start, there's no water up there.
