Itinerary description
I hiked this trail with start late in the afternoon at 15:30 at Aleko, which is easy to reach by car and I parked at the coordinates N42.58337° - E23.29139°. The route I choose was to still get some good sunlight and be back before dark. The route can be walked by anybody coming up the first part from Aleko to Cherni Vrah. Note that the sidesteps were off the main trails and into paths people walked before, but when my trail goes back to the same route then no need to look into. E.g. transferring over the green rocks when they were wet was not safe, so I went back.
My duration was 4 hours including 15 minutes break. This time I reached by running 50% of the time and without running I think it will take 5 - 7 hours to walk the trail.
For the inexperienced hikers on Vitosha, bring a jacket as weather changes appear quickly, see also the pictures.
