Description:
This moderate circular hike starts in the center of Vithkuq where you can
find all kind of basic services like accommodation, bars and mini markets.
Make sure to take enough drinking water with you from one of the
fountains in the village as there are not many sources on the way (except
at the fish restaurant). Some of the churches (Albanian word: shen) are
open for public while others are closed due to reconstruction. Make sure to
climb up the hill behind the fish restaurant to have a magnificent 360°
panorama view over the surrounding hills and Vithkuq. The top of this hill
is a nice resting spot for good weather, unfortunately without any access
to drinking water (Waypoint 008). Alternatively you can visit the fish
restaurant for beers and fresh caught trouts or make a rest in the shade
along the stream in the main valley (500 m upstream from the fish
restaurant, Waypoint 011). Count in some time in the end to stroll through
the beautiful village of Vithkuq with its traditional buildings and gardens.
