Route from Vysehrad to Staré Město passing through:
- Church of Saint Nicholas (3.5 km)
- Charles Bridge (9.1 km)

Totally recommendable visit to Prague.

Route of more than 9 km through one of the busiest areas of the city.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

TIPS FOR HIKERS:

1. Choose the right time
It may seem very obvious, but it is also the most ignored thing in hiking. You must plan your trip correctly and not leave something as important as the ideal time of the trip to chance.
It is not enough to decide the date and the route to follow, you must also find out about the climatic and meteorological conditions, approximate duration of the route, limitations according to the season of the year and the most appropriate time of day, among others.

2. Climate and weather conditions are more important than you think
In all these years as an active hiker and as a route guide, I have seen more than one misplaced person say: “pack a raincoat in your backpack in case you need it.” Nothing is more risky and unprofessional than recommending that someone wear a raincoat in case the weather conditions require it. Well, weather predictions are not 100% certain, but it is your duty as a hiker and hiking enthusiast to inform yourself and anticipate any eventuality. caused by the weather, or even cancel the activity if the danger increases due to the weather.

3. Preparation and planning of the route is vital
Just as the saying goes, “he who doesn't know where he's going, any bus will do.” The same thing happens in Hiking, if you don't know where you want to go, any route takes you, or what is the same, you are going to get lost if you don't inform yourself very well about the conditions of the route.
Kilometers to travel, accumulated gradient, level of difficulty and condition of the trail, are some of the conditions that you must find out and know before registering on the mountain.

4. How to dress for hiking
This is usually a highly discussed and controversial piece of advice, but over time you will realize that although you could go hiking with any type of clothing, it is more comfortable and, above all, safer, to do so with the appropriate clothing for hiking. , trekking and mountain sports.

5. Tell your family or friends
Before starting any hiking route or activity, you must inform a trusted family member or friend about the exact route to be taken and the estimated time, so if it happens that you get lost or suffer an accident and cannot contact the emergency service, they will be able to do it for you and make your location faster and easier.

6. We should never go alone
No matter how experienced you are in this world of Hiking, never take a route without the company or guidance of an expert, avoid headaches and unjustified dangers and always go in the company of certified hiking groups or agencies. Also remember that a route is more enjoyed when traveled in a group.

7. Stay calm
If we get lost or suffer some type of mishap or accident, remember to stay calm and think objectively, the worst thing you can do in that situation is get scared and act motivated by fear or emotions, try to check your position on the map or GPS, help yourself with a compass and contact emergency personnel to be rescued if necessary.

8. Maps, compasses and GPS
As you saw in the previous point, a map and a GPS can save you from an unfortunate eventuality. Currently, there are electronic equipment and smartphones that integrate a GPS, but these can run out of battery and this could represent a problem. That's why I advise you to carry a map and a compass in your backpack, they take up almost no space but can be very useful on the route.

9. Follow the signs
Many trails have already been marked and verified by certified guides and experts, always stay within the marked trail and do not leave it, avoid getting lost in the mountains, it could be dangerous.

10. Avoid the night
It is important that you know and calculate in advance the time needed to travel your route and avoid being caught at night at all costs.
The darkness of the night combined with the inherent risks of trails can result in a cocktail of danger and accidents. So no matter how attractive a night tour through the mountains may seem to you, DON'T DO IT!

11. Rest is important
When you are a rookie, you only think about traveling the route in the shortest time possible, you even have a stopwatch and everything, but over time you will realize that if you take periodic breaks of 5 to 10 minutes every hour, you will perform better, you will feel less tired and You will enjoy the route and its landscapes much more.

12. Keep the rhythm
This is perhaps the key and the best advice I can offer you about hiking, maintain a relaxed and constant pace, about 4 km/h would be the most appropriate, this will help you not get tired too quickly and will allow you to enjoy of the route, its surroundings and its landscapes while you walk.

13. Food
Food is vital in a hiking practice or tour, carry plenty of water with you, dehydration can cause you to get lost or disoriented, in addition to some injuries such as pulls, falls, fainting and not to mention the extreme dehydration that can cause you. to death.
So don't be stubborn and regardless of the difficulty or length of the route, always carry plenty of water with you, at least a liter and a half of water and you should drink it continuously but in small doses.

14. Take care of your health
When we start in the world of hiking, trekking and mountain sports, we usually start with routes and routes that are not very heavy and require little physical effort, but as time goes by I am sure that you will want more of this and that, You will venture onto more complicated and longer routes, but they will obviously give you the best views and, why not, the gratification of the challenge accomplished.
So if your plans include continuing to raise the level of demand whether in hiking, trekking or mountaineering, remember to take care of your weight, physical condition and health in general, as you will have to resort to them with each step you climb.

15. Take care of nature
Last but not least, take care of the natural environment, take care of the mountains, routes and trails, remember that nature is life and it is thanks to it that we are on this planet today. Do not litter or leave waste, be respectful of nature, take care of its flora and fauna, respect the rules of the places you pass through, do not light fires in unauthorized places, you can cause a fire.
