VINTGAR GORGE / GARGANTA VINTGAR
Prologue: It is a route that can be done by anyone, mainly the route of the Radovna river gorge that runs along wooden footbridges next to the river bed.
Both at the entrance and exit of the gorge, there are two control booths with a small area of relaxation, bar and in which you must pay a ticket fee of € 5 per person.
It is worth doing this tour.
Next to the parking there is a restaurant where we ate at the end of the route. Quality reasonable price.
Description: This route is about 4 km from Bled, it is circular and the total route is 9.4 km.
Because the path of the gorge is very short, we decided to park the car in the village of Podhon in order to lengthen it a little and make a circular route. From the car, following the indicators of Vintgar Gorge, we reach the parking (free) from where the journey begins and continue to the house where we bought in ticket tiket.
The route runs through wooden footbridges that often cross you across bridges to the other side of the river. The path follows the river in a downward direction and is encased in the gorge with beautiful corners.
When you reach the house at the end of the gorge, to see the waterfall that is next to you, we have two options or cross the bridge and follow a path in very bad condition or go down some stairs behind the house that take us to a bridge and when crossing it follow a path that takes us to the base of the waterfall.
Once the rigorous photos are taken, we go back and have a picnic at the tables next to the booth. Since we do not want to return by the same route, we take a path that goes to the left, which initially goes up and without loss we reach a crossroads where we find the hermitage Sv, Valarina, we follow the path to our right and cross a barrier that will take us along a path through half of meadows and with views over the town of Zasip at the beginning and then over the town of Podhom.
When we reached the crossroads where we had passed in the morning, we continued to the car and headed to eat at the Costilna Vintgar restaurant.
The group was formed: Palmira, Nico, Maruja, Juan, Loli and Joan.
