Itinerary description
From Villeneuve station, go to the backside of the station and up the steep street. After about 2 km, at a house, be careful to take the steep concrete path up. At about km 2,5 (on a rather large gravel path) be careful to take the steep path up into the forest. Follow it up rather steeply. At a crossing take the path straight, which has no yellow sign. After a cabane, the path becomes exposed in sections and just before reaching Malatraix, there is a chain to help you climb.
At Malatraix, do not miss to go right to the summit for the view.
Afterwards, turn towards Roche and descend for almost 3 hours.
