Itinerary description
From Villeneuve station, go to the backside of the station and up the steep street. After about 2 km, at a house, be careful to take the steep concrete path up. At about km 2,5 (on a rather large gravel path) be careful to take the steep path up into the forest. Follow it up rather steeply. At a crossing take the left path towards the suspension bridge (open from May to November!). At the next crossing, go left and start going down steeply, until you reach the river. You cross the river on a large bridge and then go left and up past a house. Soon you'll have to be careful again not to miss the steep path up right, which almost looked like a river bed to me. Before reaching a street, I got a bit lost, due to a fallen tree, the markings were non-existing in that area. Once you reach the road, go right and up. At a crossing, take a sharp left onto a gravel path. Then go behind the farm on a natural path. This way will take you sometimes steeply to Sonchaux, where you'll go right up on a road, until you reach the highest point of the walk and a wonderful viewpoint. From there, take the left path downwards and you'll reach Haut-de-Caux in about 45 minutes.
Moderate for the suspension bridge and the few narrow paths around that area, where you'll also find chains for help.
