Itinerary description
Starting point: Paraiso escondido
D1: 12.5 km, 900mD+ to laguna Azul (de Los Patos)
D2: 18 km to laguna las avutardas
D3: 10.5km to Puesco (half day)
Advices:
- To get to paraiso Escondido from Pucón, you can either take a cab or go via one of the agencies in pucón. That will cost you around 40000 in both cases. Hitchhiking to that point might be really difficult!
The starting point is at the end of a private road where any cars should be able to pass. The trail starts behind the house of a lady that will make you pay 3000pp to pass on her land. You can even park and camp in her garden but she will make you pay extra for it.
- take at least 2L with you and better take a filter as well in my opinion
- beware of the horseflies that will literally be on you 24/7 if you don't have a good bug spray.
- good sun screen is also a must have at that season!
- in these covid times and closed borders, hitchhiking from puesco back to pucon can be very difficult as well. You might need to ask the person at the camp site of villarica traverse (at the end of the trek) to drive you to Currarehue where you are able to take the bus back to pucón. But that will cost you 8000pp extra...
