Tam Coc is a natural place that is located in the province of Ninh Binh, a couple of hours south of Hanoi. Also known as the "Halong Terrestrial Bay", it shares with it the existence of huge blocks of karstic stone that although in Halong Bay we see them rise up in the sea, in Tam Coc they suddenly appear among the rice fields. Tam Coc is a landscape of extraordinary beauty sculpted by the Ngo Dong River that runs between green rice fields, surrounded by caves and rock formations covered with vegetation.
Note: Due to the geomorphology of the terrain, the GPS track seems confusing, with continuous losses of coverage, so only the downhill section from the top point has been taken into account, that is, only half of the track. In this way the correct data are:
Distance: 2 Km
Ascent accumulated: 82 m
Cumulative descent: 82m
At the base we can see the cave of the Tiger (Dong Hoang Ho), which according to legend says its waters provided eternal youth.
As we ascend the stairs we enjoy the incredible views of Ninh Binh province and the Ngo river
We approach the junction, which we must take to the left of Subida, after which we will reach the upper viewpoint, where we also observe a temple and a huge stone dragon that meanders on the ridge that opens from the top.
On the descent, when we get to the crossing, it is worth it before going down, go back up to get closer to the upper pagoda that is in the twin needle. Finally we go down to the starting point
