Itinerary description
Leave Altopascio and its Tau Chivalry, and with them the asphalt: most of the journey is in a reserve and you'll also walk few original Francigena pathways.
For a quick bite, a drink and a chat, Galleno has an amazing little market and a bar. Few km ahead, Ponte a Cappiano is another place where you can stop and eat. From here, the original Francigena would taje you straight to Fucecchio, but in order to avoid cars, labels will send you along a river and later you'll eventuslly climb up to Fucecchio.
Now, you're close to the end! San Miniato will be visible at the horizon and to reach it, as usual follows labels, even if sometimes it will counterintuitive: everything is planned to let you avoid cars and traffic as much as possible.
At San Miniato, the will be plenty of restaurants, but be sure to reserve a spot by phone. There is a really nice market just near the Loggia where to take a takeaway lunch in the early morning.
