Itinerary description
We combined the Mirador & Ventisquero El Amarillo hikes together into one 18 mile hike because we did not have a AWD car. I thought this hike was enjoyable the entire way as this hike was in the open providing continues views up and down the glacial carved drainage. Along the way, there are rivers, rock faces, meadows of flowers, both alive and dead trees to bring variety to the hike. The final viewpoint at the toe of Michinmahuida Glacier is almost the definition of a hanging glacier in my mind.
