Itinerary description
Up the Acebuchal Barranco to the Venta Cebollero, then to Puerta Blanquilla. Continuing along a track with fine views of El Cisne, then up the path to Venta Panaderos. Back by the same route.

At present, the very last part of the trail, from the creek just below the bend in the trail that goes up to Puerto Frigiliana is overgrown with brambles. We went last week, wearing hiking shorts and short sleeve shirts, and the trail was so overgrown that we ate our sandwiches at the small creek rather then walk the last little section just before the ruins of the Venta Panaderos. That section of the trail needs to be cut back. Next time we will wear long pants and long sleeve shirts.
The brambles weren't much of a problem in the first place, but now they've died back or been trampled down, so this section of the route is now completely clear.
I think they cut the brambles back for the Muleteer Hike at Christmas, so it probably isn't so much of a problem as it was in late November. Happy hiking!
