In this first installment we show you an easy walk, very touristic. We will visit a village of shepherds located on the plateau of Velika Planina. In the past, there was a set of cabins on this site and shepherds spent long seasons with their flock. During World War II, the region suffered severe damage and was completely destroyed. After this tragic episode, a shepherd wanted to rebuild a cabin following the traditional method. Currently, we find a set of cabins occupied from June to September and it has become a tourist spot in the area.
To access the plateau there are three options. The first consists of making the ascent by walking from the foot of the road (3 hours). A second option would be to do the entire ascent with a combination of cable car and chairlift. While the third option is to take only the cable car and walk the last section. In our case, we opt for the third.
