VELIKA PLANINA
Prologue: It is an easy circular route through large meadows and villages of shepherds at an altitude of about 1750 meters.
We left from Bled in the direction of Kamnik to go to the cable car parking in Stahovika about 60 km.
To get to the start of the route you must go up by cable car (€ 13 round trip) and return with it.
The whole route goes through dirt tracks with different levels and that can be done in different ways and distances. Throughout the tour there are several shelters where you can eat and drink.
Description: Upon arrival to the city of Kamnik We take the direction to Kamniska Bistrica- Gornji Grad and after arriving in Stahovica we will go by a small road on the left and in about 4 km we will reach the cable car park on our left and a camping at our right. We go to the tikets booth of the cable car which will take us to the beginning of our route.
From this point there is the possibility of taking the chairlifts although we made the decision to go on foot, initially with a climb up to the Gradisce peak. From this height the views are spectacular on the beautiful meadows and wooden sheds of the shepherds. We have followed a route to our pleasure as there are many roads that run through small villages and different meadows.
Since the day did not accompany us we made a shorter route than we wanted but it must be said that it is worth it.
Due to the rain we arrived at the shelter Gostišče zeleni rob restaurant where we were able to dry a little and eat the typical sausages of this place.
From this refuge we return by the track to the cable car and go down to the parking lot.

NOTE: Upon returning to the car park, I advise you to arrive by car to the source of the Kamniške Bistrice River located in the opposite direction to which we have arrived. After several kilometers on a small road we reach a parking lot next to a restaurant. It is worth visiting the two banks of the river's source.
