Itinerary description
The track starts at a parking place close to the "Varana Sassi".
You will first pass through the small medieval village founded on rock of volcanic submarine origin. In technical jargon this is named ophiolite. More commonly this is called snakestone, because the greenish stone reminds of a reptile mantle. The track than continues to the valley of the Rio Pulce. You will have to cross this small pretty creek. Continuing most of the part to Serramazzoni will be forest. After Serramazzoni the track continues through meadows to Faeto. From Faeto to Varana there is mostly forest. Apart from the parts in the villages the track is mainly on forest trails.
With some luck you will spot some deers along the way.
