Itinerary description
Top walk combining vineyards, many great panoramic views and great views over Cochem and it’s castle!
Lots of parking in Valwig, next to the Mosel: 50,14221° N, 7,21024° O
You climb out of Valwig, passing by the church and soon you have to make a decision which path to follow:
The left one goes over an easy, wide forest trail along the Apolloweg, the right one goes over a smaller path, Breva Wein & Weg path, with steep dropping vineyards to your right.
Only people with extreme vertigo should avoid the right trail.
I took the Breva wein & berg path and enjoyed my time walking through vineyard, overlooking the Mosel from above.
Both paths join again before Valwigberg, a small village with lots of picnicareas and a restaurant.
I walked out of the village on a gravelroad, staying at Valwigberg’s altitude for a few kilometers before descending to Brauselay, a great +200 degrees panoramic spot!
Descend further along the Kreuzweg, having constant views to Cochem (:Cond) and its burcht (:castle)
The last part starts initially inbetween vineyards and takes you later on to the foot/cyclistspath right next to Mosel.
Enjoy!
