The hike is actually shorter than advertised. I would advise to start from the church in Valpelline and get back there.
One alternative is not to cross the Torrente Buthier (2 km approx from the start, past the electrical plant) and keep going until you reach Centro Visitatori Valpelline Cooperativa Fontine. There you can visit the cheese cooperative. From there, take the loop, go up in the forest and take the road down to Doues.
You could also make the trip backward and finish with the Coop.
