Itinerary description
Beautiful shaded valley walk with potential for more exploration, caves and even hike to El Cubo.
From Santa Rosa de Lima on the Guanajuato-Dolores Hidalgo Highway (110), head up through the town past the cell phone towers. Continue following the stone-paved road down a kilometer or so until the road turns to gravel. Shortly after that, there is a chain gate. There should be an attendant there that will charge 70 pesos to pass through.. It is possible to park here and walk as road is a little rough.
When you arrive at the presa (lake) continue along the road until the dam and park here. There is little elevation gain/loss on this hike. The Wikilocs cross section seems to be in error.

I have been told there are caves in this area...I am thinking they are up this valley.
