ROUTE CARRIED OUT IN NOVEMBER.
Today we will visit the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, located near Rotorua, where we will take an easy walk between lakes and fumaroles, partly following the path of a small river, the Waimangu, until we reach Lake Rotomahana.
The valley was formed by the eruption of the northern part of Mount Tarawera on June 10, 1886.
The path goes more or less parallel to a road closed to traffic, where a bus circulates with several stops, which you can catch at any of them, or as we have done, use it for the return, since in this way, we gain time to be able to Visit another interesting place, instead of having to walk the same way as you came.
At the end of the path, we arrive at Lake Rotomahana, where we can see many of the birds that live in that area.
