Itinerary description

Vale do Pati 3 days from Vale do Capão to Guine - without a guide, 3 people

Day 1: Start from Vale do Capão, passing Mirante do Vale do Pati, from there straight down over Morro do Cruzeiro and walk to Hospedaria Dona Raquel. ~25 km, easy but long.

Day 2:
1) Morro do Castelo: I went alone, got some not too nice looks from the guides. You have to pass the cave and it is tricky to find all the right trails on the other side of the cave, to see the best view points. Very rewarding!
2)Cachoeira Das Bananeiras & Cachoeira dos Funis: I followed a trail from this app and the way up was in the river. Make sure to check the water level before you go, unless you don’t mind walking in the water. You can go up and down on the trail through the forest on the left. Being alone and not finding the trail made this hike a bit scary. There is a third waterfall after Funis, I skipped it because I had a long way to my next hospedagem. You can walk to that waterfall from Funis further up.
3) Hospedaria Seu Eduardo: easy trail but long so leave enough time or start all together early in the morning. I had to run to get there before night.

All together ~18 km. First two are quite steep and not always easy to find the trail. Third one is just long. For all three start early.

Day 3:
1) Cachoeirão por Cima: beautiful trek, maybe even my favorite, very steep, dramatic nature.
2) Mirante Vale do Pati (easy)
3) Guiné: we shortened the walk to Guiné instead of Vale do Capão because we wouldn’t make it before night. We could walk back from Seu Eduardo on the right/west side but then we wouldn’t walk on the trail up to Cachoerão por cima - this one is a must. Taxi from Guiné to Capão is expensive.

All together ~ 21 km, would be 22 km but we got a ride by a nice local on way to Guiné.

Most of the trails are easy to find with this app, Castel and Funis not always easy. I recommend to not go completely alone.

I forgot to make points on the trail, as I was following another trail that had them. And it was my first time using such app. Unfortunately I cannot add them now.
