Itinerary description
Walk, mainly on Via Francigena, from Sembrancher railway station to bus stop in Martigny, with detour to Gorges du Durnand. Note: main site of Gorges du Durnard was closed for renovation on 2-Jul-2018 when we visited, but the river can be seen from the track below this site.
Walk is mainly on paths and some minor tracks and roads. There is a climb up to the Gorges du Durnard, and another climb after crossing the Dranse river. There was some work to replace pipes under the part of the walk leading into Martigny, so allow extra time if a detour is needed.
