Itinerary description
was a relatively easy hike, or at least less challenging that I was had expected, although the chilly weather
Started off quite late from Shymbulak as had to wait for a latecomer. Started my hike from the lower cable point. Since had to wait thought out the entire hike, it took a bit longer to get to the arbor at the Mynzhylky dam.
After a short tea break hiked to Alpinegrad where one has to take left towards Amankeldy peak. Halfway through to Amankelgy take another left as Khrishatov peak is towards the city when looking at it. So once skirted the gendarmes one should be on the straight path to the ridge. Along the ridge, it takes another 15-20 min to the peak. If careful enough no need for any alpine or climbing gear. Just make sure rocks are not slippery and be aware of the moving stones that are beneath the snow.
