Today's stretch of the Scrubby Creek line took me from Queens Rd/Loganlea Rd all the way to the merge with Slacks Creek.
I then followed Slacks Creek all along unexplored territory navigating between the Meadowbrook Golf Club and private property on the backsides of Nujooloo Rd and Leslie Parade.
Extremely rugged and tough but discovering some amazingly beautiful terrain. I crossed the creek at one point going for a swim and accidentally plunging my phone into the muddy waters twice (aaargh).
Saw three red belly black snakes on this journey so was being vigilant - it was Spring and the legless lizards were waking up and slithering all over the joint. Pushed onto Murrary Rd near the Hyperdome and following the course of Slacks Creek, I pushed through perhaps the most difficult of all the creek system so far on this 35km journey.
The Logan Motorway Bridge was in sight and I was nearing my end point at Riverdale. Upon coming to the bridge, after pushing through sludgy mud, I did my final crossing of Slacks Creek which washed down all the mud on my clothing for which I was grateful.
I emerged from the waters to directly underneath the Motorway Bridge. Here there is a memorial and a sign remembering John Joseph "Babe" Bolton - a truck driver who in 2018 was driving a large B-Double eastbound and came off the road and in-between both bridges, crashing his big rig into a massive mess. He was severely injured, but was not found until the next day - and unfortunately he died a long and slow death as it was more than 24 hours until emergency services got to him.
I then pushed on along Slacks Creek as it was in Riverdale Park, Meadowbrook until it hit the conflux (confluence) with Logan River which is where this amazing adventure exploration journey now comes to its end. From here I was able to simply run back home. What an adventure. I can only say that my final stretch of Scrubby/Slacks was the most challenging/difficult of all the sections so I was was truly honoured to have been able to bring this trek to a successful end safely with no injury.

Another World within our world, and only minutes away from home. Who says you have to travel long distances just to start a hike???
