Itinerary description

YouTube video of this tough stretch. https://youtu.be/zX3H8kz9qKo

Today I continued from 7-Eleven Waller Rd, Browns Plains all the way to Berrinba Wetlands. I have to admit that this wasn't the most pleasant of the creek line to hike. It actually was very overgrown and quite tough as the video that I'll be putting on to my YouTube channel will show in due time. This section also went behind the Browns Plains Landfill or rubbish tip facility.

Unfortunately I took a wrong turn and started heading down an off branch from Scrubby Creek towards Bayliss Road and when I realised my error I backtracked about 500m 500m back to Scrubby Creek and then continued all the way until it hit Browns Plains Road. Not sure how I got it wrong - due to my GPS going screwy, however I corrected and that's the main thing but it meant backtracking through a very difficult section (and smelly as it was behind the Rubbish Tip!).

It started to rain quite heavily actually as I took a little bit of shelter for a short period underneath the Browns Plains Road overpass which is quite large. This actually looked quite good in my opinion on the film footage. Still, I pressed on in the rain and this was really rugged and overgrown terrain and I was absolutely drenched (which kind of made it a bit more exciting, LOL). I cautiously skirted around the legendary Browns Plains Nudist Compound or Retreat which is a very fortified facility until I hit Berrinba Wetlands. I was mindful not to disrupt the "clients" as I didn't want a bunch of unclad people chasing me down with their pitchforks. The waters of Scrubby Creek here started to become a lot clearer and I could see schools of fish swimming. It was actually a very pleasant and a great way to finish was otherwise a really hard and rugged and, to be blunt, and unpleasant hike.

Today I started by parking my vehicle on Wayne Goss Drive at the Wetlands, and caught my Didi taxi to Waller Road for $12 to my start point (where I finished up yesterday next to 7-Eleven). Unfortunately, lost my favourite sunglasses on this one). The good news, it only took me 15minutes in peak traffic to drive home - LOL.
