Itinerary description
This was an easy walk , the first part being completely flat along the banks of an irrigation canal. We were forced to turn off to the north-west, as othr trail was blocked by another waterway and a barbed wire fence. Just before we turned due west, we had to slide on our bellies under another fence but there was plenty of clearance. There is then a stile in the stone wall but it is easily mounted. The return path is still low level but it gives some excellent views across the broad valley that was once an extension of Lake Patzcuaro.
Very little of the walk is in shade, although there are places to stop out of the sun.
