If you're looking for walks, you're in Japan.
The “excessive” courtesy, a cuisine so different and remarkable, the ryokans, the onsens, the lines.
Japan, the cleanest and most structured country in the world with numerous, super clean and technologically brilliant toilets. You will never have had such clean private parts. You have to queue at a bus stop to experience Japanese rigor. Public transportation is excellent.
Urban equipment for the blind is extremely sophisticated.
They don't seem to care about water, energy, global warming and consume a lot of plastic in all forms. We wonder if we live on the same planet.
There are obviously the public baths and onsens that you will miss after the trip.
If you can, you should pay for some quality hotels, ryokans and onsens.
We traveled with “Au fil du Japon”, a remarkable agency.
Unfortunately there is a track error: the ride is 20 km long. She stops at Kamakura station. I forgot to turn off the GPS when the train started.
We wanted to go around the religious buildings on foot, but then there are a bit of roads in the urban area.
The part above Kencho ji is not worth it. The part on the trail is surprisingly wild. Take your swimsuit for the Pacific, the beach is beautiful. The inhabited area shows another side of Kamakura. We pass by a beautiful “Japanese” cemetery. For us Europeans, they are different.
The road was closed in one place when we passed, but we were able to continue around the barrier.
