Itinerary description
A nice hiking trail, for summer months, with altitutes rising to 2400 level. Trail passes very close to the summit, so you can also make it to the top, with a small diversion near the Kara Göl.
Transportation from Istanbul is dead easy:
BUDO Sea Bus from Kabataş to Mundanya (26tl)
Public Bus to Teleferik (6tl)
Teleferik brings you to 1900m level (25tl one way, 35 tl return)
A Migros shop near the upper teleferik station, so you can buy snacks from there too.
Lots of water sources, so a liter of water shall be enough per person.
The trail is not hard, but passes through some loose stones, and lots of incline, so bring some hiking poles. The weather can sometimes be unpredictable, so have rain gear.
I ended the trail at Orhaniye. There is a minibus (3tl) to Bursa, from the village every hour, at XX:30 minutes.
Another alternative end could be Alaçam. This villages is almost the same distance from Kara Göl, and has a more steady traffic (jeep or tractor), since its road to Kara Göl is better maintaned then Orhaniye. So you can hitch them. But Alaçam lacks the public transportation options Orhaniye has, towards Bursa. Still, it shall be relatively easy to hitch from Alaçam to a nearby bus station too.
