Itinerary description
BAL - aka Big Almaty Lake, completely frozen, yet still beautiful all year around. Though
Pretty easy road to follow the trail.
If you will decide to walk all the way from terminus of bus 28, then be ready for extra 4 km or so each way, at least. The road is supposed to be paved, yet once you hit the first barrier, there are ongoing dam works, so plenty of noise and watch-out for trucks, bulldozers and all other type of heavy machinery.
Once you passed this, you will face the Ayu-sayi visit centre, where you can get some hot tea, grab a bite and even get some gear if needed to.
In another 1.5 km or so and you should be be passing the second ecological post. In 15 minutes one could see the gate that leads to 4-5 ft wide pipeline.
